After completing your Pathways training you will be utilising your broad clinical knowledge supported by decision support software to undertake telephone triage; assessing patient’s presenting symptoms, advising them on next steps and referring them on to further care when appropriate.

The role is a temporary position for 6 months. There is potentially the option for the role to go permanent after this period.

The Candidate

In order to qualify for this role you must meet the following criteria:

  • NMC or HCPC registered
  • RGN’s must have triage experience – must have primary care experience in either A&E, community, GP surgeries, urgent care

The role is telephone based and your calls will be supported by the NHS Pathways system. Using the system, you with understand the callers needs and refer them on to the most appropriate pathways; this can range from immediate lifesaving instructions to directing the caller to a more suitable service depending on whether you would prefer to work on 999 or 111.

The role is a temporary position for 6 months. There is potential option for the role to go permanent after this period.
